W. Bro. Richard Spooner writes:

Last year, I was involved as festival secretary for WM David Nichols of London Lodge No 108  in another fund raising drive for his Ladies’ Night, held in February of this year. The charity supported was Market Field Farm , a charity set up to assist young adults with learning difficulties to find meaningful work.  I’m pleased to say that over £4,000 was raised for his charity, following on from the £5,630 raised at my own Ladies’ Night.

This year I am helping the current Worshipful Master, W Bro Paul Chatfield, in his fundraising efforts.  His charity is Power2Inspire, which was set up to encourage inclusivity in sport for all (both children & adults) who because of their disabilities might otherwise be excluded.

As part of our work, we are undertaking the Charities 108 Challenge.  This involves two groups of Brethren from London Lodge walking collectively 108 km over two days: one group walking 54km from the Thames Barrier to Hampton Court, and the other walking 54km from Henley to Hampton Court. His Ladies Festival is in February 25 and we hope to raise there an additional £4,000 or more on top of what the walk is expected to contribute for his charity.
